Time to Change aims to end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems in our city.
Mental health problems are common in Leicester and are estimated to affect one in four people. It’s likely that you know someone with a mental health problem – perhaps someone at work, in your friendship group or in your family. Time to Change campaign encourages people with mental health problems in Leicester to feel more comfortable to talk to their colleagues, neighbours, friends and family about how they’re feeling – it could make all the difference in helping them recover.
Leicester City Council are distributing Community Grants. The purpose of the grants is to engage local communities in conversations about mental health and wellbeing, aiming to normalise mental health problems and in so doing combat the stigma associated with them.
If you’ve got an idea of how to open a conversation about mental health in your community, a community grant may be able to help you fund it. The community grants scheme is open to applications of up to £1,500 for local projects or events that contribute directly to combatting the stigma around mental health.
